This series explores the visualization of sound reverberation through a process that mirrors cyclical rhythms found in nature, particularly those associated with the moon. Beginning with a mirror placed in water, flatbed scans were transformed into black-and-white negatives for analog printing. These prints, in turn, were used as paper negatives to generate new positives, a sequence repeated in reverse to emphasize the oscillation between positive and negative states. This iterative chain of translations echoes lunar cycles of waxing and waning, while the silver nitrate embedded in the photographic paper recalls the moon’s historical and symbolic ties to silver. Moisture and dust left behind in the process act as agents of chance, inscribing the material traces of time and environment onto the image. In this way, the work situates photography within a broader constellation of cycles (of sound, light, matter, and celestial rhythms) where the image becomes a site of continual transformation.
